Jellybean Dance
Thank you to everyone who came out to the Jellybean Dance on Thursday evening! It was wonderful to see so many families and students enjoying an evening together. A special thank-you to our School Council for organizing and hosting this fun event.
School Council
Roland Michener School Council is looking for new members to join their team. School Council is a great way to get involved in the school community, share ideas, and help support opportunities and experiences for RMS students. If you are interested in joining, please connect with the main office.
Orange Shirt Day
On September 29, Roland Michener School will be acknowledging Orange Shirt Day as part of our ongoing commitment to Truth and Reconciliation and in recognition of the upcoming National Day for Truth and Reconciliation.
In class, students have been learning about the history and importance of Orange Shirt Day and the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation. Students are encouraged to wear orange to school on Tuesday to acknowledge and honour the experiences and stories of residential school survivors and their families.
As a school community, we continue to listen, learn, reflect, and take meaningful action toward Truth and Reconciliation. RMS’s 2026-2027 Commitment to Truth and Reconciliation is posted on our school website.
Bike and Scooter Safety
We have noticed many students are riding bikes and scooters to school without helmets. Bicycle helmets must be worn by all bicycle riders under the age of 18. For helmet specifications to meet Canadian safety standards, review the Alberta Traffic Safety Act, Part 6, Division 5, Sections 111 and 112. Thank you for helping us keep our students safe!
Morning Supervision
A reminder that morning outside supervision begins at 7:45 am. Please ensure students arriving before this time are supervised by an adult. Thank you for helping us ensure that students arrive safely and that supervision is in place when students are on school grounds.
