It was wonderful to see so many families at Meet the Teacher! Thank you for taking the time to come in, meet your child’s teacher, and connect with our school community. We are looking forward to a great year of learning and growing together!

Terry Fox Run and Fundraiser

RMS students and staff will be participating in the annual Terry Fox Run on September 18! In class, students have been learning about Terry Fox and the Marathon of Hope. Students are encouraged to bring a twoonie for Terry to donate to the Terry Fox Foundation. Every contribution, big or small, helps continue Terry’s dream of finding a cure for cancer. Families are welcome to run alongside RMS students and staff from 11:00 – 11:45am on the 18th.

Jelly Bean Dance

Get ready to dance! School Council is excited to host the annual Jelly Bean Dance on the evening of September 24 from 5:30 – 7:30pm. This is a fun opportunity for RMS students and their families to come together, enjoy music, dance, and celebrate our wonderful school community.

Healthy Hunger (Fun Lunches)

Healthy Hunger Fun Lunches are a great way for students to enjoy a special lunch while supporting RMS School Council fundraising. Families can view the upcoming Fun Lunch dates through the RMS website. Families need to place orders directly through the Healthy Hunger website. Orders cannot be placed through the school office.

The first Healthy Hunger Fun Lunch from Subway is scheduled for September 24. A reminder that orders must be placed at least 5 days before the Fun Lunch date.

CBE Demographic Forms (online)

Please take a few minutes to review and complete your child’s demographic information online (through your MyCBE PowerSchool Account). These forms need to be updated each year. Forms need to be updated by September 14.

RMS Library Books

Students visited the RMS Library this week to sign out books. Our school library had an amazing selection of high-quality books for students to borrow. Students are welcome to take their library books home to enjoy reading. Please help your child keep track of their library books and return them on time each week so they have the opportunity to choose and sign out new books.

Fees and Waivers

The Government of Alberta's School Fees Regulation sets out the requirements and limitations related to the fees that a school board may charge parents of students. School fees for the 2025-26 school year are due when assigned. For school fee inquiries, please contact your child’s school directly.

Parents/guardians must pay school fees through their MyCBE account. http://www.cbe.ab.ca/mycbe

No child is ever denied access to an education in the CBE because of an inability to pay. The CBE has a waiver process for families who cannot afford to pay the fees. Any family needing a waiver is encouraged to apply to the City of Calgary Fair Entry Program to prove income for a CBE waiver, as well as access other benefits of the program. This is optional for families and the CBE will continue to accept other approved documents as proof of income. Waiver applications are available through your MyCBE account.
