Rock Circle
Our new rock circle has been built for classes to use as part of the outdoor learning space at RMS. Rock Circles provide many benefits for both students and staff. They create a natural, welcoming space for gathering, learning, and reflection. Rock circles encourage collaboration, support social-emotional learning, and help students connect with nature while fostering a sense of community and belonging.
This wonderful addition was generously funded by our School Council! Thank you for your continued support!
Dress for the Weather
A friendly reminder that students go outside every day. Please ensure your child comes to school dressed appropriately for the weather, with clothing suitable for outdoor play and learning.
Reading at Home
Reading at home plays an important role in supporting children’s literacy development. Regular reading helps strengthen vocabulary, deepen comprehension, and build confidence as learners. Families can foster a love of reading by setting aside time each day to read together, discuss stories, and explore a variety of books. These shared experiences help reinforce the reading skills and strategies students are developing at school.
Scholastic Book Fair
The Scholastic Book Fair is coming to our school! This exciting event gives students and families the chance to explore a wide variety of books and spark a love of reading. Every purchase supports our school library and helps us bring more great books into our classrooms. Students will be able to purchase books and items from the Book Fair on November 26. Families are invited to visit the Book Fair during School Conferences.
School Conferences
School conferences are coming up at the end of November! This is a valuable opportunity for families and teachers to connect, celebrate student growth, and discuss next steps for learning. We look forward to welcoming our Grade 1 to 6 families to RMS the evening of Thursday, November 27 (4:00pm – 7:00pm) and the morning of Friday, November 28 (8:00am – 11:30am). Please see our website for more information.
STEM Night
We are excited to welcome APEGA to RMS on the evening of November 27 from 5:00pm – 8:00pm. Members of the APEGA team will be running a variety of hands-on, interactive STEM stations for students and families to explore together.
Elder Shirley Hill Residency
We are grateful to welcome Elder Shirley for a special residency at RMS. Students will have the opportunity to learn through storytelling as well as learn to hoop dance with Shirley. This meaningful experience will help deepen our understanding and appreciation of Indigenous ways of being, belonging, knowing, and doing and directly connects to our school’s Commitment to Truth and Reconciliation.
