Thank you to all the parents/guardians who attended conferences last week. We greatly appreciate your partnership and the time you took to connect with your child's teacher. A reminder that parents/guardians are welcome to reach out to their child's teacher at any point during the year with concerns or would like to discuss their child's learning.

School Development Plan

Each year, Alberta Education requires each school to create a plan to improve student learning, School Development Plans (SDP) align individual school goals with the identified goals in CBE Education Plan | 2024 - 2027. Schools capture evidence of continuous improvement towards the goals set. These results support coninuous improvement of the quality and effectiveness of education programs provided to students while also improving student learning and achievements. RMS's 2025/2026 SDP is now posted on the RMS website. We invite parents/guardians to review the SDP to learn more about our goals and strategies for supporting student learning in the coming school year.

Elder Shirley Residency

Last week, students had the wonderful opportunity to learn with Elder Shirley. They learned about the land, buffalo and traditional teachings through her storytelling. Students had fun learning to hoop dancing alongside Elder Shirley. We are grateful for the knowledge and experiences she shared with our students.

RMS Little Libraries

We are grateful to one of our RMS family members for rebuilding the Little Libraries outside the school. The Little Libraries help to create a welcoming space where students, families and community members can enjoy and share books. If you have gently used children's books you would like to donate, we would be happy to add them to our Little Libraries. Donations can be dropped off at the school office at any time. Your contributions help keep our libraries stocked and support a love of reading within our community.

Food Bank Donations

Roland Michener School will be collecting donations for the Calgary Food Bank throughout the month of December. This is an opportunity for our school community to support familes in need during the hoiday season. In the spirit of respect and compassion, we will not be holding classroom competitions or tracking which classes bring in the most items. Instead, we invite all families to contribute in whateaver way they can, witht he shared goal of helping our broader community. If your family is able, we welcome donations of non-perishable food items throughout the month of December.
