Parent Council/Society Meeting
Our regular School Council meetings occur on the first Tuesday of each month at 6:00 PM. Please consider joining our very committed group of parents!  Our next meeting will be held on Tuesday May 7, 2024 in the RMS Library as we continue to enhance student learning and  experiences through collaboration and respect!  All RMS parents/guardians are welcome at the table.

RMS Spring Concert
Our Kindergarten though Grade 5 students are in preparations for our Spring Concert coming in April!   

All families are welcome to attend:

Dress Rehearsal  - April 23 @ 9:30 am  & Evening Performance—April 24 @ 6:30 pm

Drop Off/Pick Up of Students
Illegal parking around schools causes congestion and visual obstructions that make it hard for drivers to see pedestrians, especially children, crossing the street. Illegal parking around school areas can be a safety hazard and can create unreasonable disruption to the residents living in the area. 
To help prevent problems around the school please review the following:

¨ NO Parking in a designated accessible parking space (zero tolerance)
¨ NO Parking in a school bus zone
¨ NO Parking within 5 metres of stop signs and yield signs
¨ NO Parking within 5 metres of intersections and crosswalks 
¨ NO Parking within 5 metres of a fire hydrant
¨ NO Parking in an alley
¨ NO Parking in Staff Parking Lot

Please remember that we always prioritize safety over convenience – even if it takes another couple of minutes! 

School Hours/Bell Times
As a reminder, - our hours are as follows:

KINDERGARTEN:                                                         GRADES 1—5:
Monday to Friday—8:00 am to 10:58 am       Monday to Thursday—8:00  am 
                                                                              Lunchtime—11:45am—12:27 pm
                                                                              Dismissal—2:40 pm
                                                                              Fridays only—8:00 am to 12:00 pm

Office Hours
Mon-Thurs: 8:00-3:00
Fri: 8:00-3:00 

We have MANY late pickups after school every day.  As we do not have the resources or supervision to wait for children to be picked up after school, we would ask that parents arrive promptly at the pick up times.

We are beginning to think about class configurations for next year. If you know your child will not be attending Roland Michener School next year, please email 
Ms. Haniak in the office and let her know. This is essential for us as we consider staffing for next year. Thank you!
