As we approach the end of another wonderful school year, we want to thank our students, families, and staff for their continued support and partnership. June is always a busy month filled with learning, celebrations, and special events. We are looking forward to making the most of the last weeks in June!

Telus Spark Field Trip Success

Our recent trip to Telus Spark Science Centre was a huge success! Students had the opportunity to explore interactive exhibits, engage in hands-on learning experiences, and develop their curiosity about science.

A special thank you to Education Matters for helping make this experience possible through their generous funding support. We are also grateful to our parent volunteers who helped to ensure a safe and enjoyable learning experience for our students.

Jellybean Dance and Alien In-Line Family Night.

The recent Jellybean Dance and Alien In-Line Family Nights were a wonderful success! It was fantastic to see students and their families coming together to connect, have fun, and enjoy time as a school community.

Events like these help strengthen relationships between home and school while creating positive, lasting memories for our students and families. A big thank-you to School Council for their time, effort, and organization in making these events possible. We are looking forward to more opportunities to bring our community together during the 2026/2027 school year.

Play Day is Coming

Roland Michener School’s annual Play Day is just around the corner! On the afternoon of June 24th, students can look forward to a fun-filled afternoon of outdoor activities, games, teamwork, and school spirit. This special event is a highlight of the year and provides RMS students with an opportunity to stay active and enjoy time together and celebrate the year. Reminder that School Council is running the Texas Doughnut fundraiser that day. Order forms for doughnuts were sent home with students earlier this week.

Kindergarten and Grade 6 Farewell Celebrations

We are also looking forward to celebrating two very special milestones this spring with our students and their families at the Kindergarten Farewell Celebration and the Grade 6 Farewell Celebration. Parents and guardians are warmly invited to join us as we honour and recognize students as they mark these important transitions in their learning journey. More detailed information, including dates, times, and event details, will be shared with families closer to the celebrations.

Lost and Found

The Lost and Found collection has grown significantly throughout the year! If your child is missing a jacket, sweater, water bottle, lunch kit, or other personal item, please encourage them to check the Lost and Found area. Families are also welcome to stop by the school to look for missing belongings in the Lost and Found Bins located at in the main entrance of the school.

Any unclaimed items remaining at the end of the school year will be donated.

Parent Council Needs You!

As we begin planning for the upcoming school year, our School Council is looking for new members.

School Council plays an important role in supporting school initiatives, organizing events, and strengthening the connection between home and school. Whether you can volunteer regularly or occasionally, your involvement can make a meaningful difference. We encourage all parents and guardians to consider joining and sharing their ideas and perspectives. If you are interested in learning more about School Council or becoming a member, please contact the school office. We would love to welcome new voices and perspectives to our team.

School Council meets one evening a month at the school. The time commitment for Council members is approximately 2 – 5 hours a month. For more information on School Council please reach out to rmscouncil@hotmail.com or connect with Megan or Terrie at the office.

Volunteers Needed for Healthy Hunger

We are looking for volunteers to help coordinate the Healthy Hunger lunch program for the upcoming school year. To keep the program running smoothly at RMS, we need volunteers to assist with organizing and distributing lunches on delivery days.
